In more details, when users know that they paid for the deposit, they will handle the item more carefully to get back their full amount after the rental or trial period.

On the other side, the deposit model will increase the trust of the owners. Whatever happens, their items are assured, and the full or partial amount of the deposit should cover any possible theft or damages accordingly.

You should take photos and videos with the presence of the renter or buyer. It is essential to take these proves with the confirmation of the real date and time. We rely here on your imagination and creativity. You are free to use any available App which can deliver these requirements. You can also record a video with the presence of the renter or buyer showing the item (working if it has working functionalities) and ask him or her to mention the date and time while you are recording the video.

Similar to the owner, we also need to protect you from any bad experience. Therefore, we ask you to do almost the same as the owner. In this case, you also have your proof. Keep in mind that you should do this routine in the time of the pickup and return of the item. You can easily save time and avoid any arguing by these proves. The knocknock team will do its best to be the independent judge and solve any issue in a fairway.

We know that 0 risk does not exist and accidents can happen. Therefore, you (as owner or renter or buyer) can always open a dispute if there is a problem. But you have just 24 hours after the end of the action to open any dispute. We highly advise you to check the item carefully after the pickup and return and make sure that everything went as expected. We cannot keep the option of submitting a dispute open forever as the item can be reused by the owner or rented by someone else. It makes sense. Isn't it?

The main objective of the deposit is to boost the trust and security of the items in our platform. We highly recommend our users to set the deposit wisely and based on proves like invoices or the actual value of the item in the web or based on their best estimation taking into account the age and the condition of the item. We will transfer partially or fully the deposit only if the owner can prove that the renter or buyer is responsible for the damages or loss of the item. After confirmation, we will ask the owner to estimate the cost needed to repair the issue based on an invoice of repair from a recognised repair service.

Knocknock has the full right to judge the situation and decide based on the proves provided by both the owner and the renter or buyer.
